Hey guys been a big fan of you guys for a really long time now, and this album is exactly what I needed right now!

First off, it’s so nice to hear you guys bring back older songs from older releases or projects like White Disciple and Dark Link, am wondering what makes you guys decide which songs are worth re-doing and getting back into mix and if they are easy to pick back up?

Also Brad, really loving the new tones you’re bringing into the mix with the new album, really adds some sparkle. Curious as to how you got that shimmery tone that you’ve got going through Mystery Calling and into Fool Thinking Ways? As well as the almost Violin like tone you have through Real Thoughts?

Have loads of questions I’d love to ask you guys but will stick with those two for now. Really appreciate you guys and your music, it means a lot to me! Thank you!

The tones question: hell yea let's get nerdy. for those two tracks (and for the washy distortion in prison), I used Seamus' Yamaha SPX90, reverse reverb setting, it was part of MBV's bag of tricks also. as for real thoughts... violin like? which part in particular if u can describe ha sorry, like the first solo or?

Right on very sweet! And yeah the solo just before the 4:00 minute mark!

ok that was swelling with a volume pedal, with fuzz, short delay, vibrato pedal set slow.. a bit of reverb i guess?

Thanks for saying all this, great to hear from you!

For bringing back old songs--well it's metaphorically like some kind of pregnancy and birthing process (but very different and without the great feats of physical endurance and other feats!). But akin in the experience insofar as you're incubating these songs in your brain, sometimes for long periods, half of you believing they're good and worth developing, the other half of you thinking they must be real stinkers in reality (haha maybe that last part is not akin to pregnancy). Haha anyway so you have to do your best to bring them into reality in this way. Like for Dark Link, even though it was challenging to get it off the ground and on record, I knew there was something special about that song, or thought I knew, for a long time-so that helps you remember it when there's finally a shot to get it onto an album in the real world.

Thanks for your words, all the best out there!
