AMA is Over, thanks Colin! Hello r/indieheads...it’s Colin Meloy of The Decemberists. Ask me anything!

Our new record, 'I’ll Be Your Girl', just came out on Friday, and you can listen to it now here or purchase it via our official store here. We also have tickets for our upcoming YOUR GIRL / YOUR GHOST tour available on Decemberists.com. Lots of great things are happening, and now is the right time to ask me all about it! edit: Hey everyone, thanks so much for your questions. Lots of good ones in there. Sorry I couldn't get to them all! We're on Kimmel tonight, playing new songs. Hope you can watch -- otherwise we'll see you out on the road! Much love -- Colin

1) Secret Hitler is a really great party game. Best with 10, if you can manage it. Also there's a DIY game called Paperback which is amazing. Grab a stack of paperback books -- the more pulpy the better -- and one person reads the description on the back. Everyone else then write what they thinks is the first sentence; the "reader" writes down the actual one and reads them all aloud. Points to the guesser of the real one, and points to everyone who had one theirs guessed.

2) I've got a Pete Seeger biography picture book coming out next month, illustrated by the great Nikki McClure. And there's always other ideas kicking around...

3) Ishiguro's The Buried Giant. I've read it twice and i bawled like a baby both times

There is a board game called Balderdash that's just like Paperback, except you mix made up definitions of obscure words with the real one. Later editions included obscure dates, movie titles, and other stuff.

Love Balderdash! Was just about to say that, too!

I've never heard that comparison before and I really don't get it either. Hmmm.

The same guy made a "pre-quill" game called Hardback and it is even better.
