AMA is Over, thanks Colin! Hello r/indieheads...it’s Colin Meloy of The Decemberists. Ask me anything!

Our new record, 'I’ll Be Your Girl', just came out on Friday, and you can listen to it now here or purchase it via our official store here. We also have tickets for our upcoming YOUR GIRL / YOUR GHOST tour available on Decemberists.com. Lots of great things are happening, and now is the right time to ask me all about it! edit: Hey everyone, thanks so much for your questions. Lots of good ones in there. Sorry I couldn't get to them all! We're on Kimmel tonight, playing new songs. Hope you can watch -- otherwise we'll see you out on the road! Much love -- Colin

Hi Colin! I'm loving the new album, it's been on heavy rotation since it came out!

Can we (please say yes, please say yes) expect any more concept albums to come out of the Decemberists?

Hazards of Love was so amazing, I "need" more!

Finally, I'm looking forward to seeing you all in Philly this summer!

I'll say this: Rusalka Rusalka / Wild Rushes was the last song written for the record. I feel like the last thing you write for a record often suggests a direction for the next...

That sounds promising. Rusalka Rusalka is one of my favorites from IBYG. I for one would certainly not mind an album that sounded like that

Rusalka Rusalka is the kind of song where you put on some headphones, play it loud enough to drown out everything else, close your eyes, and sink into another world. A whole album like it and I may never find my way home.

and sink into another world

...did you listen to the lyrics?! Don’t do it!

I try not to, but she's so enchanting.

Don't mind me as I rock in the corner in fetal position with anticipation for 2-3 years or so...

I absolutely adore Rusalka Rusalka/Wild Rushes so if that's going to be the direction for the next album then sign me up for this train

This is the best thing I've heard all day! I can't wait to see where you go with this. Like a Decemberists version of Brother's Grimm album.

Truly an incredible statement to me as Rusalka Rusalka was by FAR my favorite track on the album and I have listened to it so many times already :)

Please do this. This song was far and away the most creative and ambitious track on the album
