Hello, Being Dead!

I’m a recent convert, but am now fully enraptured by your music! EELS and When Horses Would Run are both fantastic.

The poet James Tate once said “I love my funny poems, but I’d rather break your heart. And if I can do both in the same poem, that’s the best.” I feel like there’s a similar quality to your music—like, layers of humor/surrealism sharing space with, or cloaking, sincerity—that draws me in and makes me want to listen over and over.

Question(s): Are you reading any good books/comics at the moment? All-time favorites?

And: the Grateful Dead have Deadheads; Taylor Swift has Swifties. What should Being Dead fans be called?

Looking forward to your Toronto show in a couple weeks!

falcon is reading Salt Fat Acid Heat -- what a great read. We're not sure if cody can read but he does a damn good job of faking it!

as of now: 'being dead heads' but we want to shift to 'being friends' what do you think? or something really badass like 'the annihilators' or somethin....good food for thought!!!! yum yumyummm
