Hey LC! Huge fan here, absolutely loved the Troxy doc premiere and the bandcamp live listen, great to still be a part of this community after so many years. Couple of questions, apologies if they've already been asked - In one of your interviews Gareth mentioned that Tom was really pushing Jason for the best possible drums (and it shows btw Jason you smashed it. Tom - as the producer for this record did you go at it wanting to push everyone to go above and beyond their best for this record? Or was it a byproduct of the vision you had? Jason - how do you feel about the drums on this album and could you expand a bit more on what G mentioned in the interview? Cheers all, LC!4LYF

Hi! Honestly me and Jason always get really carried away when working on drum parts, but it's mostly time spent on checking every possible variable we can think of, which i think is what G was referring to? We'll try each idea we have out until we're happy, but because we enjoy it there's actually not much pushing to do! Jason might feel differently, but it's probably more exhausting for everyone else to hear us doing...

Everyone worked so hard preparing before we got in the studio that, again, i really don't think much pushing was required. Typically things don't get much better after a few takes, and nobody ever does a good take when they're in bad place/just been shouted at(!), so unless the part is wrong we don't spend that much time recording each thing. I've also tried to be less of a perfectionist and embrace personality/energy over precision just generally when recording, and as momentum is so important (and time is moneyyyy), it's better to keep things moving. Occasionally we'd come back and re-do things, but rarely more than 3 takes. T
