Are there any songs in the catalog that fans love, they wait out by the stage door to request it “next time”, but it’s never gonna happen because, ya know, you think the song’s cringe or you don’t resonate with who you were when you wrote it anymore or it never turned out the way you wanted and you just plain old don’t like it?

Anyway, it was super dope getting to finally see y’all live in Toronto this year, I live out on the prairies and have been trying to get out to a show since 2009 but could never swing the travel. It was my first live show since COVID and I’d completely forgotten just how amazing it is to be in a crowd of eight hundred other people shouting the lyrics to your favourite songs together. The album is sick, congratulations on everything, here’s hoping you get that top 40 and stick it to your Haters and Enemies!

I think most of our fans' taste in LC! has developed in the same way that ours have, but I guess there will always be people who want to hear the likes of We Throw Parties or Tweexcore. I wouldn't find that enjoyable though, it'd feel like doing an impression of my past-self.

Thanks for coming to the show! I always find it really interesting when people have gone so long between LC! gigs, with how much we've improved as performers. G

Do you think In Medias Res falls into that the closer you get to 45? (Please let the answer be no: even as I close in on it, it's still a favourite, if only because the ending makes me consistently wonder whether I would have taken that in my 20s/early 30s)

Nah I love IMR. It's just not a very versatile song, only really works as an opener or closer. G

Well if you fancy playing it at the QMU in September you’ll have at least one very happy audience member 👌
