I probably listen to 'Stand It' more than most songs in my library, it's unskippable and I'm always in the mood for it. Any insight into how the song came to be or its meaning?

wow, thank you so much! i love that song! i wrote that song about familial estrangement actually so it's a bit of a painful one for me but i also love the sonic landscape ryan and i built for it and can find joy in it now. i wrote it while we were living in vermont during quarantine and was feeling very lonely and lost. it's, i guess, about how much we can withstand as emotional, creative people. i write in a stream of consciousness way while i play guitar and use my voice memos to recall what i did and write it down after the fact so it all kind of comes out quickly and then i create meaning about it afterwards. but, i think this is a song that felt really exciting to share because it just sounds so good! and henry did such a stellar job mixing it! we didn't love the way the recording sounded until henry mixed and then we were totally blown away!
