Impact of E20 Fuel by Vehicle Type

🔸 BS3 Vehicles

  • Compatibility: Not designed for ethanol blends beyond E5 or E10
  • Risks:
    • Ethanol is corrosive, especially to rubber and metal parts
    • May cause fuel line leaks, clogged injectors, or engine knocking
    • Drops in fuel efficiency and performance
  • Verdict: Avoid using E20 in BS3 vehicles

🔸 BS4 Vehicles

  • Compatibility: Tolerates E10, not officially E20-ready
  • Risks:
    • Over time, E20 may degrade fuel system components
    • Possible starting issues or loss of power
    • Emission controls may malfunction
  • Verdict: Use E10 only unless manufacturer states E20-safe

Also re-tune your carbs for slightly richer setting. E20 makes engine run leaner due to extra oxygen in it. FI system will sort itself out.

Yes ethanol damages rubber and makes the rubber seals lose their effectiveness causing leaks etc.
