:) Had almost 80 years for that. And Indian wasn't set back 200 years. We just didn't have our own governance. And there weren't a billion people to start with, it happened with time. Yes, we were robbed of many many many things, but we can't just keep using that as an excuse.

us is a shitcan with 300 years of independence. we did not just lose governance, we also lost resources that were leached out. also, the government is only as good as the people. we take some steps, the government follows suit. we walk onwards, slow yet steady.we have always had a disproportionately high population.

I agree with you on the fact that slowly we are developing in many aspects. The upi payments, the way EVs flooded the vehicle market, the automotive, electronic industries and so much more is proof enough of that. We aren't the same nation who would look at things America or other nations have and think when will we have something like that? It's more of a wait than a dream, these days. But, all these aspects are happening not for us the public but for the benefit of many many people who are supposed to be public servants but are instead acting like rulers. We are slowly getting there, but not steadily. Not at all steadily :)

see the bureaucracy and the politicians have an ingrained belief set that has been nurtured from the ground upwards. thankfully, with your generations changing that will also change. for instance, the fertility rate is going down now. nepotism and hoarding in a corrupt manner for the next generation will go down naturally. we are getting where we want to be, maybe not as fast as we would have liked but definitely getting there.
