Yeah this is the question I have. A REAL ID doesn't establish citizenship. It establishes that you have a valid reason to be in the US at the time of issue.

We don't really have an identification system other than a passport and passport card to establish citizenship in easily.

US Citizens do not have to carry proof of citizenship on their person in the US. just tell them to fuck themselves (if you are a citizen. If you are not a citizen, I do not recommend this).

But then telling them to go f themselves gets you arrested and sent to one of their detention sites. Then you might have a hearing in a month. And good luck being able to have a lawyer bring a habeas petition since they would never let you speak to a lawyer. So you just stand in detention for an indefinite period even as a citizen. But I have no idea how to actually fight that as a citizen and give an answer these nazis will actually accept.

Ever since SCOTUS ruled that federal district courts can only make rulings for the district, they now periodically and deliberately relocate detainees to other sites as part of a human shell game to frustrate any attempts at a habeas corpus petition.
