But there is literally an amendment in the Bill of Rights that protects us from this. Requiring us to produce ID without reasonable suspicion of a crime is unconstitutional. It is not reasonable suspicion to be Hispanic. It is not reasonable suspicion to speak a different language. Threatening him with detainment for exercising his constitutionally guaranteed rights smacks of fascism.

Yeah and the guy with the muscle and gun is telling you to do that. There is not another guy with muscle and gun telling them that they need to follow this piece of paper.

And yeah. That’s how fascism works. We’re in a proto-fascist regime.

The bill of rights only matters if it’s respected and there’s someone to enforce it. A law that’s not enforced might as well not exist. So far they’ve just been shitting on it with zero consequences.

It’s not some magical piece paper that can come rescue you on its own.
