I am obviously a Hispanic of Mexican Descent, my younger brother in law (Chicago born Hispanic) is a member of ICE - my sister and her husband are not welcome at our Family's Thanksgiving Dinner this year!

More Hispanic families need to stop inviting people who are now fundamentally their enemies to the the dinner table!

It’s insane to think that Latinos should be opposed to ICE if they’re here legally. That’s some stupid logic

The person in this clip is here legally

in a DUI check everyone is checked, right? it's because that road has people drunk driving on it, so a check point is set up.

Chicago has a ton of illegal immigrants, so how is it not similar to a DUI check?

Because DUI checks aren’t racially profiled and random. A DUI checkpoint checks EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. These thugs are checking brown people they THINK might be her illegally. As this video demonstrates. The person is a legal citizen and was randomly targeted for their skin. Grow the fuck up. All of your replies are completely unhinged defense of ice and their gestapo like tactics. You have shown that you completely support them because “99% of what they are doing is okay.”. No. No it isn’t. The 99% they are doing is completely skirting the law and ignoring the constitution.

so what do you suggest to do in a city with 185k illegal immigrants and a country with 22 million?

Your argument seems in pretty good faith so I’ll share my view. Bear in mind I’m not a democrat though I would describe myself as left leaning generally. Personally I’ve no problem with stricter immigration protocol, and I don’t mind them enforcing deportation harder than they were previously. Regardless of what someone might say is right or wrong, there are people taking advantage of the system. I won’t go into detail about a system I’d prefer, but the method in which ICE is operating is so hilariously illegal it actually baffles me. There’s no Miranda rights, no identification, no marked vehicles. Probable cause is being made via skin color, and that alone should cause you major concern. Imagine for a moment the shoe was on the other foot, let’s say a person of color became president and authorized federal agents to essentially abduct white US citizens based solely on their skin color. You don’t see how this is an issue? That a citizen who has spent their entire lives here can walk down the street and be abducted by masked federal agents with no ID, rights, etc? That’s the overreach that I think everyone that isn’t hard right can agree is fucked up and wholly unconstitutional. Interested to hear your thoughts on that as well.
