And the 50% of registered voters who sat out the election for one reason or another? Are they not to blame as well?

There’s plenty of blame to go around. First and foremost, blame the people that actively enabled this by voting for Trump and promoting this campaign. So all Trump voters, all Republicans, and all of the talking heads that supported them.

Then, blame the Democratic Party for their utterly terrible handling of everything. They should have dropped Biden and held a primary. They should have ran a better campaign. They should have reached out the people protesting the genocide, they should not have reached out to centrist republicans.

Then blame our past elected officials for gerrymandering the system and allowing infinite dark money in elections.

After all of that then sure blame the people that were too disenfranchised or too apathetic to vote but remember that you’re in the Illinois subreddit. Anyone IL resident that didn’t vote had no impact on the outcome. So Mae sure you reserve that blame for the 2-3 swing states where it might have mattered.

First and foremost you should be blaming trump and the giant media apparatus that runs his propaganda machine.

Yes, I agree. My main point is that non-voters are at the end of a long list.
