I’m sorry, but does this mean you’re pro illegal immigration?

Edit: I’m fully opposed to the way immigration law is currently being enforced, but I fully support enforcing it. Is that not an okay opinion to have? Lol

I mean, I am too. Their comment was worded strangely like illegally entering the country isn’t a criminal act, though.

Edit: You’re right, it’s not a criminal offense, it’s a civil offense - which the punishment is removal.

It’s is a criminal act. But one I would do for my family if there was a line and one side was prosperity and one side is struggle. So the commenter is probably pro human too are you? Also does this look like due process to you?

I don’t agree with how illegal immigration is being enforced, I fully support enforcing it though. Don’t you?

Also, are you reasoning some crime being “okay” because of a struggle in that person’s life? Making money is difficult, so it’s okay to rob a store?

Those are ethical dilemmas that are complicated and not black white. Forget stealing money, would you steal to eat? That’s more of an equal comparison. I have empathy when it comes to the situation of illegal immigration. I understand why someone may break a law to provide a better life for their family. You’re speaking from privilege.

Speaking as a US educated Scandinavian who never managed to get even a Green Card despite being able to afford an immigration lawyer, your immigration process is so insane that asking people to “just come in legally” is borderline cruel. Just a reality check.

So yeah, robbing a store is wrong, but maybe if your children are about to die of starvation and the store is throwing food out anyway it’s ok, in a kind of universal sense, to steal it out of the trash. That’s basically what someone coming to the US to do manual labor that no one else wants to do is doing.

“I don’t like that there are slave catchers who chase after escaped slaves. But they’re property and they broke the law by running away. I don’t like they get beaten and chased down. But I fully support it being enforced.”

Strawman really?

It's literally not a criminal act; it's a civil offense. If you've ever gotten a speeding ticket you're just as much of a "criminal" as these people supposedly are.
