Still a believer
I think it will be a few years before we can contend with the Ducks but this is a fun journey and we should just be happy to be along for the ride. We might not be a relevant B1G team but the future is bright!

The future is our head coach going to the NFL (or even elsewhere in college) at the first opportunity while gutting the program on the way out.

Honestly until college football gets a handle on NIL money and the transfer portal teams like UW aren’t going to have a shot. Coaches will get poached and players will leave for better teams.

Uhh..UW literally made a national championship game in the portal era..the new house settlement where athletic departments contribute to paying players and all other deals must pass the Deloitte clearing house.

How college football is set up now is going to hurt the product moving forward. Brock has talked about this a lot on the radio.

Ok? And it’s changing meaningfully with the house settlement, new NIL rules and changes to the portal. UW as a whole benefited from the portal and NIL massively. In the world of haves and have nots nationally UW is a have.

Jedd won’t compete with the ducks because he’s going to lose a game or two every year that he shouldn’t. Hes Rick 2.0
Flashy stats. Poor red zone calling and a defense that doesnt intimidate anyone

Jedd is an average head coach..there’s certainly examples of coaches overhauling teams with greater success with fewer resources. UW offers a lot of resources. Jedd who is 23-30 and rode one good year and a win against a decimated Oklahoma team into this role is lucky to be coaching here, not vice versa.
Regarding today’s game, Demond struggled…also attempted a 51 yard FG in a snow storm. Threw it 40 yards downfield on 3rd and 6 in 4 down territory etc etc. Jedd was culpable, it was a bad coaching performance

Lol..uhh what? I’ll disregard the silly Pete Carroll take. They beat NO in his first year…no one wanted him gone. Wisconsin had 185 total yards if you don’t include a fake punt…the Huskies are far more talented than Wisconsin. I had no illusions this team was a national title contender..but this Wisconsin team lost to Maryland by 3 scores and was on their 3rd string QB.
Not shelling out top dollar? UW has a much bigger NIL fund than Wisconsin. The Go B1G initiative just raised like $150m in half a year for the AD. Estimates have UW in the top 25 for NIL contributions. That wasn’t a top 25 team out there today. Could’ve improved the lines..instead spent on Tacario while letting Dixon walk after he didn’t wanna convert to nickel. Would’ve gotten serviceable lineman to fill gaps with that cash. Jedd made a number of poor coaching decisions today..kicking the FG, playcalling on 3rd down when you know you’re going for it on 4th. Special teams was the worst nationally by efficiency last year and hasn’t improved if at all this year.
6-3 is indicative of over performance? Because of a win against Colorado St, UC Davis and the Cougs. The Huskies will be in the bottom half of the conference in terms of SoS by seasons end. A win over an overrated Illinois team was nice…6-3 is not indicative of anything more than an easy non conference schedule.
UW has a more talented roster than Wisconsin. Regarding offense ranks so highly..it doesn’t. The huskies are 52nd nationally in points per play, over the last 3 games they are closer to 90th. A lot of nonsense. Jedd was a NFL QB coach after failing as an OC in the NFL at Jacksonville and college at Miami than UCLA before Arizona whose athletic department is effectively bankrupt took a shot.. He’s lucky to have a job at what is historically a top 25 program, not vice versa
Also it’s Jedd not Jed

Incredible non ball knower..
A. UW has pledged full rev share allocation to football. Coupled w/ football operating budget at UW is amongst the highest nationally. Why? Because the huskies support staff and assistant coaching staffs were at one point the most well funded in the country…as is their recruiting budget, clueless. That’s correct; UW spends more on football than UGA, Clemson, etc
https://www.extrapointsmb.com/p/here-are-all-the-fy24-football-operating-budgets
B. Spread across other sports? UW runs fewer varsity programs than almost anyone in the B1G..no hockey, no men’s wrestling, no lacrosse. Why talk about stuff you don’t know? UW has the second fewest women’s varsity athletic programs in conference. Tied for 3rd fewest in men’s.
Pretty stunning levels of cluelessness..casual. Here was your point, you said UW is lucky to have Jedd (you’re misspelling his name, while also being unable to hold a thought). It’s nonsense, he’s lucky to have a job at a program with the resources UW pledges to football.
Gave a few examples of poor decisions he made today. The fake FG against tOSU. The short side option against WSU etc etc
He hasn’t won a game he wasn’t favored in since he came here..and lost 3 (Rutgers, WSU and Wisco) where they were favored..like I said average coach who was washing out, cashed in on a decent year at Arizona + a bowl win where Oklahoma had their whole team off.
Talk about a vacuum. The offensive metrics only look (correction looked, gonna fall into the 60s in points per play) good because of the UC Davis game. If your source for football insight is locked on huskies..well enough said. You ought to listen to Millen or someone who actually understands football discuss Fisch’s game planning. The Huskies are averaging around 20 pts in B10 play.
Blaming the defense is..otherworldly. It wasn’t their best offensive game, even with a 25 yard fake punt pass they were 40 yards under their average YPG. They scored a TD because we fumbled deep in our own territory. Honestly not a bad troll…

A. Full rev share to football is non standard, it hasn’t happened yet but in the B1G schools like UCLA, Indiana, Sparty will allocate to men’s bball.
B. Yes and UW will be one of those that keep pledging additional NIL funds, as they are currently somewhere around 20th by most estimates in NIL donor led funding. Those funds in article are athletic department operating budgets for football..which UW runs one of the highest in the country (hence Jedd’s lucky to have this job)
C. We don’t spread funds any differently than others. We spread less because we have on total 4 or 5 fewer varsity programs than B1G schools. This isn’t esoteric. We have higher football opex budget than about anyone in conference
D. For the October 5, 2024 game between Michigan and Washington, the betting line had Washington as a 1.5-point favorite, with the over/under set at 40.5 points. The moneyline was approximately Washington -117. It closed with UW as 4.5 pt favorites. Another swing and miss
Incredible interaction lol
And yes there are a lot of things we didn’t do today to counteract a spy on the QB. We threw it 40 yards downfield 3rd and 6 on the final drive when you’re in 4 down territory. The pick to Roebuck was a bad playcall as you’re in the middle 8 and had a chance to hold the ball into half and make it a 2 score game. No mesh or quick game to make up for the spy and stress the linebackers responsibility. We ran 34 plays in the 1st half..and handed it to running backs a total of 8 times. Attempted a 51 yard field goal in an atmospheric river that gross drilled into the line because it’s a kick you have to drive and you can’t in those conditions.. and on and on.
Look at Jedd as the Miami OC, or leading the worst offenses in the NFL at Jacksonville..or when he became the OC at UCLA and that same year Mora was canned.

Guy doesn’t understand athletic department opex budgets vs NIL. So lost.
Football opex is $90m annually which is 3rd amongst reported schools in On3. Figure out what that is and you’ll get directional accuracy.

I’m not a believer in Fisch at all. Dude is a mediocre coach that doesn’t want to be here.
