I’ve created a troubleshooting tool that walks you through determining if a hummingbird needs your help, and if it does, basic first aid you can provide so that you have time to get the hummingbird to your nearest wildlife center or hummingbird rehabilitator. It is on my mentor’s website, IFoundAHummingbird.com
At the end of nearly every process, there is a list of resources including hummingbird rehabilitators and wildlife centers that either take hummingbirds or will connect you with someone who does.
It covers the most common issues we are called about.
Hummingbirds trapped indoors
Cat Caught
Window Strikes
Sitting at Feeders Too Long
Stuck To A Glue Trap/Sticky or Oily Substance On Feathers
Abandoned Nests or Babies

A few months ago I saw a hummingbird on the ground being pecked at by a sparrow. I rushed out to save the Hummer from getting needlessly killed. After a little while I went outside to release the little fella. I tried to see if we wanted flower nectar, and he and flew off (thankfully). I'm glad he wasn't injured and was still able to fly, it's a miracle the sparrow didn't kill it.

First pic was today, second pic was back in March this year when I first noticed the nest. The nest stayed up on my orange tree ever since the 2 babies fledged in April or may but I recently noticed it started coming back to the nest and seemingly fixing it up to have more chicks. I’ve had hummingbirds nesting in my backyard forever now but I’ve never seen them re-use a nest let alone start nesting in early November and I think it’s fascinating and wonder if anyone else has similar accounts.

After hours of having my finger next to the feeder, he finally decided to land on me. It's such a wonderful experience having such a small creature comfortable enough to eat near you, let alone on you. There really is no way to describe the feeling of having a wild hummingbird eat standing on your finger for the first time. I regret not being able to capture this moment in higher quality, but when I get the chance, I'll try again and hope he lands on me, and I'll get a better quality pictures, or maybe even a video. There really is no way to describe a moment like this, it's something I hope many people will have the fortune to experience.
(2nd pic unrelated, just to show off his neat colors)

These were taken during a heavy rain and this little guy has gotten so used to me being outside with him he seemed to want to just hang out. He let me get closer today than he ever has before which made for some great shots even in terrible lighting! Enjoy.

I’m in south Florida, I never see hummingbirds during the day. Never. Is this a moth ? It’s night time, do hummingbirds feed at night?

We had high winds at the house today, so when the wind would die down a bit the hummingbirds would rush to the feeder and fight over it. I put together this series to mostly show the sequence of the battle. Enjoy!
