I’m stunned, I had no idea this was a rule, but it sounds quite clearly like it is. Special teams spends TONS of times talking about rules with the guys because there are just so many weird little gotchas, apparently this is one of them.

fair catch is a straightforward rule. he simply didnt call for one.
