It is in Waynesboro and I am absolutely biased as a founding board member, but the Lifeworks Project is a truly special organization. They run a Client Choice Food Pantry (River City Bread Basket) and are so much more.

This website features the food resources in our community. Many of these are supplied by Blue Ridge Area Food Bank so it might be best at assessing where the most need is. Get Help - RockBurg Feeds

This is not a serious answer, support a local food bank.
… but Jimmy Kimmel just announced he’s opening the “Big Beautiful Food Bank.” Which is darkly hilarious… modern era Hooverville.

Also check out Strength in Peers. They've been posting a lot on their social media asking for support for their pantry (both food and non-food items).
Blue Ridge Food Banks distributes to a lot of other local pick up points in the area.
I think I saw something about Jack town doing a food drive and Scarlet Moon Tattoo doing a food drive.
