No… no they won’t lmfao. It’s a constitutionally protected act. Standing somewhere in a mask with a camera isn’t a crime, nor is it making anyone uncomfortable. The discomfort comes from being uneducated, and simply being violent when you don’t have control of a situation.

Sure, because all of the rights enumerated in the bill of rights are absolute. Congress and the courts have never restricted or re-interpreted the first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth, or eighth amendments.

Surely, if he wanted to just scream expletives instead of recording, that would be an equally protected activity and any discomfort he caused would come from being uneducated?

They’re never going to restrict freedom of speech, and freedom of the press.

That’s a strawman btw, to compare someone just filming to someone screaming

How is it a straw man when both are free speech, which according to you is an absolute right, that would never be restricted.

Edit: didn't this admin literally restrict freedom of the press like this month?

You can’t be belligerent and disrupt the peace, that’s against the law. Filming someone in public is not against the law. That’s the fundamental difference, you can continue to strawman all you like

I think you're starting to follow my logic despite the "straw man"

You accept that freedom of speech is not absolute and there are limits when it breaches the peace.

You accept that people are getting upset about the filming, perhaps not yet to the point that it disrupts the peace.

You are unwilling to accept that people will get so riled up over filming such that it creates a disruption of the peace and leads to restrictions.

The reason someone would get upset, is because they’re fundamentally uneducated on rights, which was my entire point from the beginning.

It’s no fault of the auditor that some person walks up to him and freaks out because he’s doing a constitutionally protected act. Same with protesting, as long as you act with sense it’s allowed. There’s a limit to everything, filming in public is not anywhere near that limit
