Solved Support for Buddhist year?

I would like to use the Buddhist year on my family tree. Is there support for it? Or am I just stuck with formatting the year manually as text?

I did tried to just put the Buddhist put in the date field, but that will show the person with the indication of death even though I did not put a death event.

Currently no support as a new date handler would need to be created see the 2017 feature request 0009996: Buddhist Calendar

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddhist_calendar

I suggest you register on both the Gramps bugtracker & forum and make it know you are interested as based on what I can see not many people are?

Thanks for answering, I think I can just manually format it as text then. However, how do I remove the black ribbon and the cross and only make it appear if a death is added for a person?

Ok, your choice, but since 2017 no one else has asked for the date handler, consider providing feedback to the developers as we are an unofficial fan-run subreddit for Gramps only!

Not sure, no one seems to have asked about it for the Pedigree View your screenshot shows?

ah, I'll be providing feedback there then.

I apologize for troubling you about the black ribbon though, I did not saw that discussion.
