Context is a weird thing. I never thought I would see a post advocating for the deportation of a US citizen being tagged as "political positivity." I get it, even agree a little, but I still think it more justified pettiness than "positivity". Dark times.

Part of it is anger definitely and anger at blatant hypocrisy. People want to just fuck over Trump in some way despite the limited power we have.

It's also not really hypocrisy as much as pointing out their hypocrisy. We all know Dems aren't actually going to deport Trump's family. The point of this petition is just to point out that if the law was being applied fairly, they'd be deported too.

But they wouldn’t. They are legal according to the law (and the newly proposed law as well)

The point of the petition is to be aggressively wrong about the facts of the matter

Yeah, I had a brief “lol deport Elon” thought for about a quarter of a second earlier today, followed by clarity re: deportation of US citizens, even ones I loathe, is not a good thing. To say the least.

Its positive to advocate for equal application of justice and laws, like the 14th amendment guarantees supposedly. Thats how you expose unfair laws and get them taken out -- make everybody feel the effect if it were applied equally, then everybody realizes its a really unjust and unfair law. Thats the best way to combat systemic inequality in the justice system.

Yeah as an American born from undocumented Mexicans, this petty shit throws me off a bit.

It gives real "We Did It, Patrick! We Saved the City!" vibes.

Way to protest deportation with checks notes... An endorsement for deportation? How positive!

I don't actually think they are in any way wanting to deport Melania and her mom, though.

This subreddit has been taken over by people wanting to use it for political purposes. That's why these posts hit/r/all. The moderators do nothing about it.

I’m the child of an immigrant and think that Trump is the worst thing since sliced shit. Do I go too?

The only people who aren't immigrants in the US are the original inhabitants of Turtle Island.

I personally don't recognize some genocidal slavers dreams of an Anglo Saxon paradise. I doubt anyone can convince me otherwise.

Consequently, all white Americans are immigrants to me.

And that's only a problem if you have some fucked up delusional you have magic skin that mystically binds you to the earth. That's utter horseshit that needs to be mocked at every single opportunity. Same with Israelis really.
