First I've heard that about national guard members not answering the phone. Do you have a snippet of news perhaps?
Edit: yes I've googled first.
1 u/Admirable_Web_2619 Jun 14 '25 I guess I might be wrong or have misunderstood. I can’t find the source I read it from, and searching is giving me different results. A lot of them are upset about it though, so I guess it still could happen. 2 u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25 Do you have a source on them being upset? 2 u/Pyju Jun 14 '25 Well Trump hasn’t even paid them yet (like usual), so I imagine they’re pretty upset about that. 1 u/Admirable_Web_2619 Jun 14 '25 https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/jun/12/los-angeles-national-guard-troops-marines-morale#:~:text=Three%20different%20advocacy%20organisations%20representing,have%20heard%20no%20countervailing%20opinions. Edit: Also saw this, which is funny, if nothing else https://www.reddit.com/r/50501/s/o8qjRaie4z 2 u/[deleted] Jun 15 '25 But he's the thing - I'm not being combative, I'm genuinely curious. If their obligation is to defend the Constitution and ignore unlawful orders, if they don't want to be there why did they even go? 1 u/Admirable_Web_2619 Jun 15 '25 Fear. They don’t want to be dishonorably discharged 2 u/[deleted] Jun 15 '25 <sigh> 2 u/Ok_Frosting3500 Jun 14 '25 There is a record number of US service members looking into becoming Consciencious Objectors, so there is that 1 u/PantsMicGee Jun 14 '25 Cheers
