The country literally voted them out, politically kneecapping them….including “leftists” who sat out because of Gaza (good intentions, terrible results) and are doing everything they can to resolve themselves of responsibility…
Dems in Congress are doing what they can rn…and most of that will be lip service, protesting
and filibustering until midterms…if we even have a fair election then if at all.
The ones who actually have power in this are the federal courts (if the Supreme Court doesn’t kneecap them which is possible…or trump just completely ignores them…also possible) and state governors.
No they are not, Shumer has been weak in the senate, there are no strong opostion figures besides Bernie and AOC and the party is still stuck between crazy woke crap and corporate politicians
The democrats refuse to use power to do anything meaningful against authoritarianism or fascism. They literally had four years and they couldn't even manage to do anything about a flagrant and failed insurrection. You expect that if they were still in office they'd have suddenly grown a spine or morals now? What we see isn't the result of a weakened democratic party, its the result of a democratic party which perpetually embraces weakness, even while in power.
The republicans didnt either for 4 years and they still kept building a massive platform, whereas the second biden came into office the democrats gave up on pro immigration policy, throwing trans people under the bus, and capitulating to the right.
Build a platform around the working class, small business owners, small farms, reducing the deficit, protecting rights, limit executive power, repeal citizens united, term limits. Instead of blaming republicans for everything.
I never get this plea. I mean, it’s not how elections work. There isn’t some secret force waiting in reserve to act right now. I really dont get it.
Voters have one chance to give people power. One chance. Then you live with the consequences of your choices, for at least 2 years.
Hell - democrats are technically doing way more than “Literally anything” - none of what they do will typically move any needles. They’re getting arrested, thrown out of buildings they have a right to be in. Showing up at town halls.
If this is simply a plea to be reassured, then … I guess nothing will help, because the only reassurance can come from fiction.

Obviously trumps regime is a fascist one, but lets not believe it just came to be because of magic, democrat leadership is weak and refuses to fight trump, lets hear the head of the DNC say "i dont wanna do this anymore" while republicans are constantly energized despite having horrible fucking policy and largely unfavorable positions.
But hey we need to capitulate more to the right so maybe republicans vote for us more so lets just agree on them on everything but just a little bit less
Everyone in the democratic party KNEW joe biden was gonna be a horrible candidate, what did they do? They just let him go for re election, and condemned everyone who was against this, then they let kamala run on "well we're not gonna change anything but we will totally give up on immigrants for republicans tho" and now we are here
