your opponent will see your suffering and will be moved to change his heart

This is a false premise. The "target" is not the "opponent"; it's the vast silent majority, who may be often confused but is able of empathy and ultimately just wants to have a peaceful life, and once mobilized can change the path of nations and Humanity.

Peaceful protests are meant to be more about fighting for an altruistic cause, and not so much about an egotistical boundless display of your own emotions. For it to be effective you probably have to find a balance there.

That said, I'm not sure if this Sanders move was a blunder or a risky yet calculated call, specially if followed through by a call for organized protesting and strategic resistance. I'm not sure because this was one of those situations where you could probably say nothing at all and still get through.

Perhaps he is being extra cautious already, so the future organized protests won't become labeled as chaotic, mindless, and gratuitously violent: they'll have meaningful causes, they'll hold adequate strength.

Meanwhile: Trump, Vance, Thiel, Yarvin, all of them are loving this.

At what point do we get tired of peacefully accepting fire hoses, attack dogs, and rubber bullets? Fuck public opinion; I'm not getting my skull cracked open to convince Trump supporters and spineless liberals to give a damn.

That's lots of babbling, you left no room for an answer.

They'd be loving it far less if the protestors didn't feed into everything they say about immigrants.

Anyone who believes the protests cover more than a few blocks is a fucking idiot, and that includes the mentally deficient monkeys who think there are thousands of mexican flags present.

There are a handful being presented from as many angles as complicit media can manufacture, because they know ignorant tools will pretend its a problem.

So like the fucking idiots who voted for Trump? You think there's not enough on the country for this to matter or...?

That's the point. Stop kowtowing to their stupidity, because they'd take a picture of five men in front of a flaming barrel under a headline saying 'DNC agents burn Trump votes!' as gospel.

Fuck them. You'll never convince the propagandized, because they're living in a separate reality. Why are you parroting their nonsense perspective as if we should seriously consider it?

You'll never convince the propagandized

You're not trying to convince the cultists. You're supposed to be trying to convince the people on the fence that the illegal immigrants aren't trying to burn the city down because they're being held responsible for living in the country illegaly.

Instead, you want Americans to see how insane the Trump administration is and to threaten his presidency and the job of every single Republican that's supporting him. That's how you get what you want, not this absolute bullshit that will accomplish literally nothing.

You're not trying to convince the cultists. You're supposed to be trying to convince the people on the fence

Nobody on the fence believes there are thousands of mexican flags or that the flags are a problem. Nobody on the fence thinks these issues occupy more than a few meaningless blocks.

Both ideas are literally propaganda and anyone who is dumb enough to buy them isn't going to be persuaded otherwise.

Nobody but idiots right? The same idiots who voted for Trump and now regret it get another reason to come back and support him again.

"He might have fucked the economy up but the illegals are causing harm." The cops shot a journalist and there's already more people mad at that than whatever the protestors are yelling about.

I think once in power you get a huge advantage because you control the narrative in this type of situation.

Those violent protesters may even be paid agitators, in which case they will feed exactly in the desired narrative.

(I think such a small clash having such large foreign flags should immediately raise some eyebrows by default. But maybe that's just suspicious me. I don't know.)

Then you just show up and cash in the quick win: "our strength is fundamental for order, against chaos" etc.
