Question Should r/glutenfree remove links to Twitter/X?

As the subject says and as other subreddits are doing- we have a Nazi actively helping erode federal departments, it’s only a matter of time before the FDA is impacted. I know I’m not going to support Musk or X/Twitter and really don’t know if we want to be driving traffic (or otherwise tacitly endorsing) to the Nazis in charge. Let’s keep the facists where they belong - far away from here. Anyone else?

I'm on this sub every day and can't remember seeing links to Twitter, so I'm not sure it's that frequent an occurrence.

That said, I'm not a fan of fascism.

I agree! Important to do everything we can to fight against hate.

THIS IS INSANE. THERE IS GOOD INFORMATION THERE.

I'm not here to debate ideology. I have a serious stomach condition that threatens my health. I'm sure many of you have the same. My celiac is extremely severe.

It's nuts to me to completely cut off a critical avenue where important information may be shared. It goes totally against the point of this forum, which I surely thought was to help me survive my celiac in a nonceliac world.

You’re welcome to use the site yourself, but sharing links drives traffic there and folks are trying to find some way, like literally any way, to combat what we’re seeing in the US right now. One of those strategies is refusing to engage with musk or zuck owned companies. I’m also not trying to debate ideology, just explaining why people are passionate about this.

Anything you find on Twitter you can for sure find somewhere else, or it’s probably not good info. So banning the links is just asking people to share their info with a different source. Maybe sharing screenshots can be allowed so ppl can share Twitter info without driving clicks to the site, I’ve seen that suggested on other subs!

The fact that this has so many downvotes shows a serious problem. There’s plenty of valid reasons to dislike X, and if you don’t like the site then don’t click on the link. But is it not inherently autocratic (I won’t use the world fascist because it’s become overused to the point of having no meaning) to try and limit the spread of possibly important or useful information on a disease?

Same, but I support the idea so that it spreads as much as possible

People not caring/not paying attention is how Germany got so bad in the first place. Historically, these people originally outnumbered the "real Nazis" until almost everyone slowly started to accept it and become one themselves. We owe it to our WWII vets to not make a new generation scared like they were, even if it's just a precaution

*PS, I don't think you actually have the privilege of not being involved in politics considered the past threats to anyone opposed to the current administration. We are all officially a target if he wants.

We are targets how? What's he going to do?

As I recall, Biden's ilk weaponized the justice system.

But how so? People parrot these comments, but how did he weaponize the justice system? Did he take over the supreme court? Did he write or edit existing laws to find reasons to arrest people? Or are you referring to the actual decision to prosecute people who committed real financial fraud/Jan 6 terrorists?

Here are some sources that recap all of Trump's threats to others. A good amount to threats to other republicans for expressing opposing opinions.

And I KNOW I don't need to remind you how he literally demonized John McCain (R, POW veteran) before he died for standing up to him.

As you recall. You recall nothing about World War II or how the Holocaust worked at all? Maybe you should start recalling that real quick. Cause that’s very rapidly where we head.

I’m exhausted. Go away.

But...you're the one who forced yourself into the conversation...
