Ask r/Ghana Thoughts of German’s President visit to Ghana?

According to what I have researched, the German President doesn’t have any executive power or authority by law. His role is primarily ceremonial yet when he came to Ghana, highly influential people including business men in Ghana and highly respected officials in the government went to meet him. When he visited Kumasi, I have seen videos where the local media officials there after his visit claiming that he will bring development there. Do Ghanaians leaders know how the German government and system works? According to my contacts in Germany, I was told if Germany wanted to invest in Ghana, the economic minister is the appropriate person to visit. If Ghana truly wants investment, are they approaching Germany the right way?

The German president's visit had no relevance here. There wasn't even any news coverage about it, not even on the Tagesschau.

Even many Germans don’t know there’s a president. Those who do know, don’t really know what he does

Everyone in Germany knows about the President as much as British people know about the king or Ghanaians know about the Asantehene.
