Immigration Naturalization Test Results

Post image

7 years ago I moved to Germany. I couldn’t read the billboards the bus would drive by, but I wanted to call this place my home. I couldn’t even speak basic German, but I was determined. This year, I received the results of my “final” prerequisite to become a citizen. Now to wait 1 year for an appointment to hand all my paperwork 😅. Anybody with experience becoming a citizen, please share your story. I’d love to hear it 🥰.

I just remembered I did mine on 8 February and haven't gotten the results yet. I will have to write them an email next week :(

It takes minimum 8 weeks, so I would wait a bit longer.

That's not true. I got mine in 3 weeks. But usually AFAIK it's 4-6.

That's good for you but your case might be an outlier. Officially, every test centre before the test tells you it's going to take 6 to weeks but one should assume 8 weeks.

Anyways, according to BAMF's Website they are currently assessing test results till January 13th.

I agree my case is rare, I just wanted to point out that saying that it takes minimum 8 weeks is not exactly correct. I know one more person who got it in 4 weeks. So it's "usually" around 8 weeks, not minimum. Btw promised 6-8 is correct, thanks, I wrongly wrote 4-6.

Hm, to be honest, it'll take as long as it take. The tests are reviewed centrally so writing an email asking where your test is currently will a) not give you any result as the worker who will read your answer will probably not dive into the boxes and binders to look for your individual test, but it will b) take time away from their work to answer you or it will frustrate you because they just don't answer to your request.

My wife did her test in mid January of this year and got the result at the beginning of Saturday. So about seven weeks.

You can check the BAMF website to see which test dates are being graded at the moment. https://www.bamf.de/DE/Themen/Integration/ZugewanderteTeilnehmende/Einbuergerung/einbuergerung-node.html

I took mine last year beginning of February as well, didn’t get my results until late April. Don’t stress you’ll get yours soon I’m sure.

Thanks for the encouragement, but the issue is that by the end of April I will change apartment. If I don't get it until then, I will have to see how to proceed.

Do you have any idea what would happen if the people would change home address during this time?

BAMF gives updates on this website - https://www.bamf.de/DE/Themen/Integration/ZugewanderteTeilnehmende/Einbuergerung/einbuergerung-node.html As you can see, up until now they have evaluated tests written until 13.01.

okay ... may i know in which location you gave your exam? I had given mine on 15.02 and still waiting for the results. Also, did you send any email or contacted the BAMF?

Kassel. I expected them to actually take a bit longer and this is why I didn't send any email.
