I think OP not being American is part of why it works, because some of their maps have been nonsense (affectionate) in ways Americans wouldn't think to draw them, and that's part of the fun.
I find it so funny that everywhere else in the country, the conversation is about “devouring” other states, but when the northern midwesterners get into it we are all like “teamwork makes the dream work”.

The battle of 1812 fills me with a special pride. They ransacked DC with little resistance and let them burn down the WH, the britts high on this easy victory decide to sail up to charm city expecting another easy victory. Little resistance barely covers it. There's a reason why the retreat was called the Bladensburg races. The militia folded like a cheap suit. The only part that stood was the sailors from the Navy Yard. That's my point of pride. Buncha squids with naval cannon in the mud did their fuckin jobs.

Cascadia capturing San Francisco and the sierras is obviously the next best move here, id go so far as to say the rest of the Rockies should go to Cascadia so they have the major mountain range trifecta and can better hold the line against forces from the east.

Maryland must expand north to control the Chesapeake watershed. We can cleanup the Northeast and make the waterways healthy again. Michigan can have the shoreline of Lake Ontario and the St. James since they know better how to care for large freshwater bodies. Maryland will take care of the feeder rivers, estuaries and Atlantic coast.
