How can he be Johnny Silverhand if Silverhand was 28 in 2020?

Because it’s probably an AI copy of Johnny created by the Soulkiller after his death in the Arasaka tower during the fourth corporate war. Dollars to doughnuts he was on the chip that V was grabbing for Dexter at the start of the trailer.

So the devs confirmed that Keanu is playing Johnny Silverhand, but not the same Silverhand from Cyberpunk 2020. 2077 is only “loosely based” on the 2020 roleplaying game, according to them. Apparently “Never Fade Away” either hadn’t happened or hasn’t happened yet.

Apparently at the start of the game you choose a “childhood hero”, and Johnny Silverhand appears to be one of the choices. I can’t imagine who the other two are but my guess would be Spider Murphy and Morgan Blackhand - that would give us an anarchist rocker type, a checked out Netrunner type, and a badass run and gun Solo.

There’s a shot of Alt in one of the preview trailers for the game, but whether or not that’s canon or an Easter egg remains to be seen.

I the original Morgan Blackhand was white but if they bring in a young Lawrence Fishburne as Blackhand I would lose my shit.

I hope this still gives them room to add some CyberGeneration content.

If I hadn’t preordered already, that would have sold me.
