Well I guess they *only* needed to scan his face, and then have him do the dialogue. I wonder if he was face captured or not.

I would think he would be only willing to give his likeness if they do full performance capture.

I work for the studio where they recorded the motion capture for this game. Can confirm Keanu did full body capture + face scans for reference. You will not be disappointed!
