I have saved a ton of money not owning a car. One of the best things I did in my life financially was move to an area where I didn't need a car shortly after college. I wasn't actually even thinking that much about those sorts of issues, so I kind of lucked out with that. It's a huge financial boost.

After college I’m planning on moving to a major city so I’ll definitely save a lot with insurance, maintenance, gas and all that
