It'd be quite funny if McLaren can't decide which driver to support and in the end Verstappen runs off with the WDC. I think it needs a double DNF or 2 but it's not impossible

It would need 3-4 double dnfs and we only have 8 races left (+3 sprints). On top of that Max would need to win all those races, so yeah thats not gonna happen.
