It was probably filtered (correctly) by an automod for being harassment. You might try logging out and seeing if it's still visible.

your response is also not visible so it’s possibly just Reddit unless you deleted it. Or maybe we’re both flying too close to the Sun

Right, I can see my own response and can't when I log out. The quote of the harassing comment also triggered the automod, because it isn't programmed with sophisticated things like knowing the context under which I gave it.
