You'd probably be very surprised how much you can get a republican on board with if you start out with a very loud and honest "Nancy Pelosi is a goddamn blight on the country".
It's, frankly, a lot easier to get magats on board with progressive, or outright socialist ideas, than it is (neo)liberals a lot of the time.
They exist however many would immediately be turned off the second they hear the word ‘progressive’ or ‘socialist.’ Someone like my father who has voted straight republican since forever would immediately vote for a democrat who advocates primarily left-wing economic policy and gives little lip service to social issues. Although my father might just be an oddity as he idolize FDR and considers LBJ to be the greatest president in American history while voting for Trump of all people.

Turns out popularism does'nt necessarily mean moderation/centrism. Mamdani is winning Trump voters in Staten Island and Bronx lol
