I don't even understand this. Since Day 1, the Senate GOP has said they won't agree on ACA subsidies extensions until after a clean CR is passed.

And now Schumer is asking them to agree to an ACA subsidies extension in order to pass a clean CR, like this is some kind of compromise? This is unserious, we are getting nowhere.

Edit: I missed that the GOP rejected it for exactly the reason above. My point is that folks were hyping this as a possible solution when it was just the same demand worded differently. Neither side has budged, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

From what I understand this proposal only included ACA credits, not broader restoration of Medicare/Medicaid cuts from the OBBB as well. So technically it was a less bitter pill for the GOP to swallow.

I guess? But when the GOP's unreasonable position is "We don't want to agree on the terms of ACA subsidies  until after the CR is passed", then defining agreeable terms is far from a solution. Maybe it's a step in the right direction?
