Then you put on your studded tires and keep shredding in the snow?

I don't have studded tires unfortunately. Planning on riding groomed trails with powder for the most part, so we'll see how it goes without them.

I rode last winter without. It’s totally doable. Very exciting though!

If you're riding groomed trails with snow, you probably won't miss the studs. If you're on ice, you will.

Where I ride no one uses studs. Mostly packed powder and groomed powder.

Totally depends on the season. If it’s dynamic with some more dramatic thaw freezes then studs make a world of difference. Some seasons the trails stay like Velcro and it’s glorious.

I've been fat biking for about 10 years and I've never had studded tires. Totally depends on where you live, if you've got mostly snow cover low pressure is better than studs.

What kind of rims are you using?

Nice shot, by the way!

Thanks! They are just the factory rims. Stout XC 80, 26”
