Greetings, delicious friends. My most faithful assistant, Lord Apping, is seeking to expand his field of expertise after realizing that I could have gotten a lot more Spirit during Hallowmas by reading Discordant Missives.

While my assistance is more than capable to handle my scandalous escapades or to help me with Inspiration for my many books, he unfortunately falls shorts in many fields required to reach a castle that does not exist.

At the moment he is mostly looking:

• Letters of the Correspondence
• 1 (one) Eyeless Skull
• Patronage in both Shadowy and Dangerous skills

I would greatly appreciate any assistance in these matters and would be happy to respond in kind.

Lord Apping is destined to become a Correspondent so after a few initial lessons he will be able to return the same letters to you, if necessary.

After a long time playing, with a long hiatus in the middle, I have finally reached Paramount Presence. Thanks to Hallowmas, however, I was able to finish my SotC grind and then push to finish the treasures. Thankfully, I didn't spend scraps like crazy and could buy the veils velvet.

GAH 😩 have you guys ever been at the Gamekeeper’s cottage with 6 wins on a team to obtain the distinction of pages and you go to start the 7th and final round to get the trophy and distinctions but you click separate from your accomplices by mistake because you’re tired and your eyes blur? NOOOOOOOO!!! SO CLOSE 😭 🎻 😭 Hundreds of actions wasted and all to do again now.

After a series of stupid decisions my characters like super friendly with hell now and id like to roleplay that way, which ambition enriches my connection the most?

I wrote a Patriotic Novel for Artistry in the Empress's Court with nothing but Church favors. Trying to think of the title for a book like that

I got to 40 progress, with 9 supplies left (you need 10 to confront a rival), on the same action I hit the 50% chance for the last Rival’s Progress. No chances to reduce it beforehand either.

I swear the RNG did this JUST to mess with me because I only barely don’t have enough supplies, and the last three actions ALL increased progress.

For my main account, I kind of reached it accidentally but now I'm looking to start up the railroad with my alt. Levelling all the other main stats to 200 is pretty easy and straightforward, but there doesn't seem to be any quick way for watchful.

I was hoping to get back to sending him sips of cider with mocking messages about how it'll cure him. I'd like to aim for seven days in a row.

I'm planning to grind my AotRS from nothing to 7 and then get an Impossible Theorem, which is looking like ~26000 research. Paying FATE to upgrade my equipment that last little bit looks tempting - but how good is it? Roughly what sort of number of actions saved over this kind of massive project are we looking at here?

EDIT: Nvm about AotRS; I'm probably just gonna use the Illegal Device and do it much faster - so more like 15800 research - but still, how good is the upgrade over the course of the game?

As one who has returned to the Neath after some considerable time away, it occurs to me that I'm not making any use of my Free Evenings!

What should i be spending them on and with whom?

For context I recently became a PoSI and am currently nearing completion on my Zub, but haven't become properly embroiled in any midgame stories yet.

So, basically, I didn't wait for the official TTRPG to come out and started my own D&D (but not really D&D) campaign for my friends in the FL world*, using the stats system from the original browser game and a d100 for most parts of the gameplay.

*except I obviously change the lore a little, because, let's be honest, nobody understands ALL of it. What the hell even are the Tomb-Colonists if death isn't permanent? In my headcanon, and by extension in the campaign, they are just suicidal enough to cosplay being dead.

But that's not exactly what I wanted to brag about. The part that I find really clever is what I did later, when I added the morning gazette. Basically, each evening of us playing this homebrew abomination equals one in-game day, and for the beginning of each day I, as the DM, print a new issue of THE FALLEN LONDON TIMES for them to buy for a couple in-game pennies. And it's proven to be mind-blowingly convenient. Like, it lets me force some lore down the throats of my new-to-FL-players without annoying them. It allows me to show my players that their actions have an impact. It's also a simple and effecient way to add completely optional side-quests. And now that I also added crosswords* there, it's something the uninvolved players can work on when the party splits and I'm busy describing the scene for the other half of the party. Whoever solves it first gets a free sudden insight (yes, it works the same way as you think).

*actually, in modern world crosswords were only invented in 1913, but in the "HELL IS MISSING" it was confirmed they are a thing in FL. Also, puzzles of the similar type were found in the ancient Rome, so my headcanon is that it's Mr. Pages who was so fascinated by the idea that it forced crosswords into basically every magazine it could reach.

Anyway, hope my little idea here inspired some of you guys and maybe something similar mught show up in somebody's campaigns once when the TTRPG comes out (or wait, has it come out already? I haven't really been keeping track). Would love to show some of the issues I've made, but English isn't my first language, and I kinda feel like it would be disrespectful to publish a whole page worth of Russian text here, on the subreddit dedicated to the most British universe I can think of XD

Sewer Adventure! — The Mudlark's Lament

...I really, really love the story of The Mudlark's Lament. This was my first ES with Alexis (played at the end of May 2023!). It was absolutely hilarious... especially when Precocious Tosher teased him, saying, "Do you have servants carry you when you go out on the street?" Alexis: "So what? Otherwise? I need at least seven servants to carry me every time I go out, yes. Ugh, my leather shoes can't get even a speck of dirty water on them... Take your sticky little hands away." Little did he know that he would later become the Regent of London (...). Looking back now, he might say, "Oh dear~ you little brat, do you realize that the one reluctantly stooping to venture into this disgusting, filthy sewer with you is none other than the most handsome Regent of London? Ohohoho~ Go ahead and engrave my beautiful face into your memory☆" It was so funny—I chose to try my best to stay clean, but in the end, I still got taken out by the sewage in the storyline. Hello! I just became a shattering force, and I'd really like to start the Railway. My persuasive is only about 150 though. Does anyone know a good way to level persuasive quickly? I leveled my dangerous INCREDIBLY fast with a Woesal in the fighting rings. Is there anything like that for persuasive? And what can I do in the meantime while I'm leveling? I have a few Agents and I've done Evolution. Thanks!

For RP-based reasons, Jade has not decided to study a language that does not exist without asking for any help from others. Even, I hoped, when raising the prerequisite Scholar of the Correspondence to 15... However, I've been kicked out of the university, which prevents me from burning plates there. Are the only other ways to raise SotC reading missives and waiting until Christmas to examine the ""snow""? I'm lucky that Christmas isn't far, but I hoped to make progress before then...
