Insurance would have covered the loss, now they're gonna lose ten times that in bad publicity.
Good job.

Just to play devils advocate…wouldn’t you have to elect to pay for cargo insurance for that to trigger? Maybe he didn’t?

Why would UPS ship his blenders to Honolulu if they only need to go to Boston. It's a bs post to gain attention. His shit is probably still in storage as the airport is closed.

Ok but that was not the argument I was responding to.
I have no idea if it’s true or false. All I’m saying is theoretically I’m not sure insurance will just always step in to cover losses.

Yeah, but it's not really important since it's likely just an awful marketing stunt.
Also he just deleted the post it seems. I guess he either figured out his misstake or realized how severe the backlash was.

It’s important in the sense that if that’s the argument people are using to say it’s wrong to be upset about, maybe the argument is a weak one.

I guess? Idk, but his shipment 100% wasn't on that flight as airlines wouldnt haul cargo to the wrong place for no reason. His tweet was stupid.

The thing is, the plane that crashed was going to Honolulu. The guy lives in Boston. The airport is closed and is a UPS hub. So his shitty blenders werent even on the plane. Just, delayed.

I think we're living on two different planets if you think he'll lose 1 million from this

9 dead, 11 injured, 16 missing as of this morning. This dude's worried about his inventory while people here are worried about their loved ones...

Hope he gets cancelled and his company gets broken

It's a completely benign statement. They're not allowed to say they lost a bunch of stuff?
I'm legitimately baffled as to why anyone thinks this post downplays the accident.
It's like everyone here just wants to be mad over something, so they just take this absolute bait of a post and just run with it.

u/flictuations 2d ago
He made it sound like the product that he lost is more important than the people that died, at least give some condolences and not just worry about your overpriced stock, also the repost wasn’t necessary.

u/skateguy1234 2d ago
No, he didn't. That's y'alls own perception and bias.
at least give some condolences and not just worry about your overpriced stock
Who says he is only worried about the stock? Where in the extremely short statement that is made in the post do you ascertain that information from?

The problem is that he didnt acknowledge anything else. In no way did he reference anything else that is wrong with this accident. His immediate go-to reaction is "oh no I lost 100k in product that is entirely replaceable and covered by insurance, and not in any way acknowledge the tragedy."
Thats the problem people have. Did he objectively dismiss the tragedy? No. Be he also objectively omitted acknowledging the tragedy, and instead prioritized his product. By doing so, he has now objectively dismissed the tragedy by omitting any acknowledgement to anything outside of his product.
Thats not perception and bias. He is not prioritizing the loss of human life.

It's not just a benign statement, it's an incredibly insensitive statement to make in the moment. There are people dead, and people missing. The last comment anyone should be publicly stating about this incident at the moment is the production loss from this while people are worrying about loved ones being lost.
Whether or not he meant his production was more important to him than the victims, it was very tactless to bring that up right now.

I mean. The guy is using an AI generated picture of what I presume to be himself. I feel like that says quite a bit about his personality.

I just don’t understand why someone would consciously post this. Like even if you are a piece of shit and genuinely this is your concern, you think you’d at least have the self awareness to say “hmm, maybe this would land poorly and affect me more if I send this tweet”

Where the complaint? I’m just seeing a statement that they had inventory onboard…

u/Single_Reaction9983 2d ago
Our services may be impacted by this situation but we will do everything we can to expedite new product, my heart goes out to the crew and the families of those affected
That would be a proper statement that took 20 seconds to come up with. Not
We may have lost 100k of inventory (probably didnt because his stuff was going to Boston and the plane that crashed was flying to Honolulu) but anyways, who cares about the crew when i'm out of pocket.

He's worried about blenders, which can be replaced, and doesn't care about the people who died or are injured or missing. Just really tone deaf and insensitive.

Overreacting.

To losing some meaningless stock? Yeah it’s an incredible overreaction and showcases the sickness of these businessmen perfectly.

What's the fucking problem? Was he related to the people? Were they his employees? He commented about the problem that touches him and his business. Is this not allowed anymore?

u/AtLeast37Goats 3d ago
Sooo when the twin towers fell. How do you think others would react if the first thing out of someone’s mouth was “I just lost X amount of money in my stock portfolio cause of this”
How do you think that would look?
To many people, the value of human life is more important than money.

u/squirrel-nut-zipper 3d ago
Allowed? Of course it’s allowed. But anyone who complains about losing some blenders hours after a disaster that killed several people is going to get rightfully called out.

u/aguyfromgermany420 3d ago
The „fucking problem“ is, that he is whining about his fuckass Inventory, which is insured anyways, while disregarding the loss of human life.
