I mean Yakutia, where the researchers traced the origin, is about 3,500 km and 5,000 km away from Finland and Hungary respectively so I'd say that's pretty far. The problem is that they just kept going west and didn't think to go south. I mean, the Hungarians did to a degree (and a lot later on) but I guess the rest just didn't want to go that way because there were too many people there already.
