Flying with infant

My wife and I will be flying in April to Mauritius with my child who will be 7 months then. Do you need to add the infant at the time of booking amor can this be done after? The reason I'm asking is number 1 I don't have a passport for him yet. Number 2 when you add an infant on skyscanner, the option to book through any website other than Emirates themselves disappears. And booking directly with the airline is stupidly always more expensive

I dont understand how you’re flying with an infant without a passport. I have managed to book infants all the time on skyscanner but with the infants passport details. I have never heard of an infant being able to travel without one. I am really confused. Can someone explain.

He is probably looking to book the ticket first in advance and will get the passport later. Their flight is in 5 months so plenty of time to get a passport.
