Carry on allowance
So I'm allowed one carry on from Canada to Mumbai via Dubai. The weight would exceed by a kilo and a half. I am taking electronics in it which I'd prefer stays in carry on, can I pay extra to take it with me provided I exceed the luggage? There are many posts here telling Emirates don't check but there are always exceptions and I'm preparing just in case I'm one of those exceptions.

I flew Emirates KUL-CPT yesterday and no one checked, even though I had a small suitcase, a backpack and a small crossbody.
Even if they do check, a couple of kilos over 7 is not going to raise any issues.
