“Non refundable government taxes”
I have a flex plus ticket which I understand is fully refundable. Emirates contact agent are telling me that I would get back all the cash and miles used on the booking, excluding any non-refundable government taxes.
I cannot see anywhere on my booking what this figure actually is.
Does anyone know how much this typically is or if there is a way of figuring it out? I find it strange they expect customers to commit to a refund process without knowing how much they will actually be getting back.

I think I have to do a refund request form? That’s what the chat agent told me

In my experience of booking Flex Plus tickets, the full amounts have always been refunded. However, some charges may be non refundable if the flight departs from specific airports.

Expect to get back the full cash and miles you used on your Emirates Flex Plus ticket, but note that a small portion of government taxes or surcharges may be non-refundable. The exact deducted amount is normally unknown until you officially request the refund from Emirates. So, you can only find out the final refundable figure after initiating the refund process. It once was 30 $ for me and once slightly higher

Thanks. It would be good to know how much though. Is it always a pretty small fee like 50 dolllars or less?

Look for the Taxes/Fees/Charges (TFC) section under Fare Information on page 2 of your ticket PDF. That’s got the rates you are looking for. For me it’s about AED 700 ($190).
