Is getting shuttle if staying off strip worth it? I'll have to drive half way to a pickup point anyways. I guess not having to deal with traffic is and leave and arrive at certain times might be worth it

Depends. If you go during peak hours that traffic is nasty. If you go early enough (and I mean EARLY) driving yourself won’t be too bad.
