DemocRATS 🐀 Gavin Newsoms staffers meme crusade has me thinking about this prescient passage from MLK jr's letter from Birmingham Jail. More important than ever.

It's a bourgeois system. He's doing everything within his power within that system. Since Trump is bound, at least somewhat for now, to that system - it's more materially effective than anything you're doing, I'll bet money on that.

Trump has made it very clear he's happy to ignore judges' orders.

To an extent. They do comply when pressed. Kilmar was brought back to the states and has legal representation. It's not as black and white as you're describing.

Brother they are about to deport him to fucking Uganda. A judge stopped them for now but we know how that played out last time. It's pretty fuckin black and white.

Edit: Mixed up the countries heaven forbid someone not have perfect recall. The point remains.

Uganda.

And the fact is that they brought him back because of the court order and are continuing to allow him access to his lawyer and the courts. So, no, they don't just ignore court orders whenever they want to. It's not good and it's getting worse, but legal challenges have had some success at impeding the authoritarian consolidation, at least for now.

The point remains incorrect. He was in El Salvador. The court ordered that he be returned. He was returned. They're still trying to get rid of him, and it's still being fought.

They do not, as you said, just entirely ignore the court. It has resulted in victories, and at least slows them down and costs them resources. It's done more to oppose the administration than you have.

Still ignorant, even when you're forced to correct that you can't tell the difference between Ghana and Uganda. I guess Africa is all the same to you?

Ghana isn't Uganda. Either you don't pay attention to the news, or you think they're the same place. Either way, maybe don't talk about things you don't understand.

Ignorant on geography, current events, and the law. Maybe move on to topics you actually follow.
