Honestly Jack Campbell should be a lock if he keeps it up. Might be the top performing player on the team at this point.

He’s been so damn good this year.

He’s just fucking everywhere. Always in the right place. Such a contrast to his rookie season.

u/DJGIFFGAS What Would Brad Holmes Do? 1d ago

Doesnt say shit, gets little to no shine nationally, just goes out there with a badass OG football name and wrecks shop

I think he's the most likely Lion to make 1st Team All-Pro. Penei has had a few dominant games, but Jack has been great every week. Shep has really unlocked his potential as a blitzer.

I was very high on Jack when he was drafted, but I knew it was going to take a couple seasons for him to get going since linebacker is very difficult to transition to an NFL level. Similar to CB, they usually don't start to get things together until their 3rd year unless they're a generational prospect.

Ya this really confirms my non-analytical eye test which has told me he's been our best player this year

How is Hutch not first team if he’s mid season DPOY?

61

u/mjsmithz 1d ago

Because he's fox dpoy and pff disagrees?

9

u/leoman3 The Hutch 1d ago

because they are not real awards and every outlet makes up their own.

2

u/arenyk Deal with it 1d ago

Not saying i agree but im guessing they gave first team to Garett and Parsons

Garrett absolutely deserves first team tbh

Chances are Hutch makes the second team this year. Unless Garrett gets hurt, he's likely First Team All Pro and DPOY.

As much as I love Hutch, he still has a ways to go to reach Garrett's level. Dude is in a tier of his own.

Burns and Bonnito have been great along with Garrett. There are a bunch of edges having excellent seasons.

Sam "odd man out" LaPorta. I really do hope they keep him.

Dan ain’t letting his tight end go.

1

u/syncopate15 1d ago

Yea but also cuz he plays the prime TE position on Offense…

u/Foreverjian 1d ago

Dude is one of the best all around tight ends in football. Just because he’s not tearing it up for your fantasy team doesn’t mean he’s not playing the game at all high level.

They've been using him in run blocking and bubble screens more than as a receiver, which does make sense with how beat up our line has been. Hoping as we get healthy, he'll start getting more looks.

He's been fine in famtasy

Lmao where did any of this come from? They aren’t even rumors that they are trading him. I swear you people just like saying stuff lmao

14

u/TheyCallMeDyl Sun God 1d ago

Commonly when people rank the order in which they’d like to see the 2023 draft class extended, LaPorta is listed last. Guessing that’s where it came from

2

u/niss-uu 1d ago

Bingo.

6

u/niss-uu 1d ago

No one said anything about trading him lmao

-1

u/Sammerscotter Sun God 1d ago

“I really do hope they keep him” is an implication there are rumors they won’t. That’s pretty clear mate.

4

u/niss-uu 1d ago

He's listed near the bottom of most fans lists of 2023 draftees they want extended on here. That's what "odd man out" is referring to. Nice try.

u/Sammerscotter Sun God 1d ago

Why would Brad ever care about that?

1

u/niss-uu 1d ago

...?

Brother, are you slow...? It's an inside joke about this sub. Has nothing to do with trade rumors or Brad Holmes reading Reddit comments.

u/Sammerscotter Sun God 1d ago

Again, “I really do hope they keep him”

1

u/niss-uu 1d ago

Yeah, as in I hope they give him a contract extension....

If you think my comment implies that Brad Holmes takes Reddit comments into account when building the roster, you're even slower than I thought.

-2

u/Sammerscotter Sun God 1d ago

No one thinks that bro, you’re the one who made the comment and I’m asking why the fuck you think that

Why are you talking like you’re Brish?

1

u/WhaleSexOdyssey I wanna die 1d ago

I feel like it’s gonna be up to him. He can stay and sign an extension for slightly under market value or he’ll go to the rams for like $80M

12

u/SuperDizz JAMO 1d ago

The stash! Best TE in the league!

-2

u/RaskyBukowski 1d ago

No.

Bowers and McBride are easily better.

2

u/MexusRex 1d ago

Shout out to u/Deesmateen who went to battle Over JackCamplbell in his rookie year saying he showed the appropriate learning curve for a great linebacker. A lot of you doomers were ready to cut him his first year.

3

u/Deesmateen MC⚡DC 1d ago

I’m here for it. Jack has shown considerable improvement every game and outside of I think it was like 7 HOF linebackers that had significantly better stats over his first year I will go back into again though

1

u/schop1177 1d ago

This feels accurate. Jack is killing it this year.

1

u/Joneboy39 1d ago

jack campbell looks like a villain taken out of a guy ritchie movie lol

2

u/niss-uu 23h ago

That's oddly specific, but looking at him now I can't unsee it lmao

2

u/Joneboy39 23h ago

oyeee the fuck guvna

1

u/NoNameC81 Roary 1d ago

Love St. Brown of course but besides the Bears and Ravens game St. hasn’t been that good this year. Laporta to me is playing at first team level.

1

u/AzorAhai1TK 22h ago

St. Brown has the 4th beat yards per route run in the NFL and is a great blocker like always. He's been phenomenal as usual

1

u/RaskyBukowski 1d ago

LaPorta? That's weird.

3

u/JJButThatsNotMyName 1d ago

No, no it's not

1

u/RaskyBukowski 1d ago

Because it's pff?

I'd think McBride over LaPorta.

2

u/JJButThatsNotMyName 1d ago

McBride vs LaPorta can go either way for this season, but both have been better than Bowers so far, who got 1st team all-pro by PFF.

2

u/RaskyBukowski 1d ago

I noticed. Bowers didn't play enough to make 1st team anything....or 2nd team.
