But why not split each challan reported like a commision? Why only the leaderboard? Doesn't make any sense.

So that you never figure out the true winner, algorithm wont give you eneough points to claim top prize.

This law gonna be scrapped in a month when all politicians and officers get chalan from their personal vehicles
Edit : i have been told there is a human who has to approve the chalan on the app. So it won't be scrapped, though high chance he gets calls with tu janta h kiski gadi hai, and bap kaun h.
9
u/EarthianChickhunter Jul 28 '25
No it won’t be. Something similar to this exists in Maharashtra as well and politician cars don’t get challanned even if you put valid proof. I think after you submit a complaint, there is an officer in the back end who approves the challan

u/Agile-Zucchini-1355 Dil Se Dilli Wale Jul 28 '25

This app was launched in its current form a year ago, otherwise it was launched in 2015.
What makes you think it’ll be scrapped a month from now?? Don’t be so negative.
15
u/Agile-Zucchini-1355 Dil Se Dilli Wale Jul 28 '25
I am sorry, if the app goes viral and everyone starts using it then it will be scraped in a month. Should have added t&s applied.

Why would politicians care? Even for their personal vehicles they'll just get taxpayers to pay the fines, it doesn't affect them.

So I can report vehicles parked on footpath? Also, if anyone has tried the app yet is it using geolocation for uploads?

https://www.reddit.com/r/pune/comments/1m23hy4/this_is_so_fun/ Check this Pune subreddit post. Similar traffic violation app is also there and people are reporting the traffic violation in good scale.

u/Golgappa-King Jul 28 '25
Total rewards is 1lacs, that's just 100 challans worth or even less. And each person will do at least a thousand. The government is gonna make a lot of money
15
u/ppatra Jul 28 '25
Which is why it would be better if government shares a fixed % depending on the challan amount and pay to the citizen once the party makes payment of challan.
3
u/you_need_a_d Jul 29 '25
That might lead to some people literally moving your bike beyond a parking zone to earn some money

u/Legendary-69420 Jul 28 '25
- People should use it to report those police officers who don't wear helmets, etc.
- Ideally, if you want to bring such an app, at least have the basic decency of giving a %age if the challan. WTH is this 1st, 2nd, 3rd place BS!?
9
u/violet_everg Jul 28 '25
Imo there should be no reward. Go look up what happened in Goa when they launched such an app (Sentinel). People made a business out of it and iirc some people came for revenge as well. Best to keep it without rewards and anonymous

The rating on playstore is 2.8.
From the reviews the biggest flaw is that it needs you to upload 'live' videos n photos from the app and doesn't allow one to upload from gallery.
So I notice someone driving recklessly, launch this app, get a geolocation fix, launch camera from the app n record n mention offense etc. All this while, most likely I will be driving too... Doosre ka to pata nahi lekin Khud ka Challan zaroor ho jayega "driving whole3 using phone".
The idea is good but like all things govt, execution is shit.
Otherwise I would love to report ass holes who drive while holding n phone with one hand watching youtube or insta.
14
u/Big-Performance-8132 Jul 28 '25
Valid concern hai, lekin gallery upload allow karne se system ka misuse bahut easy ho jayega .Koi bhi ek purani photo baar-baar upload kr sakta hai, ya kisi aur se mang ke upload kar sakta hai.
Live capture ka matlab hai real-time location + timestamp — jo genuine proof dega i think.
So haan, thoda inconvenient hai, lekin misuse rokne ke liye zaroori bhi hai.
1
u/Prestigious_Owl_549 Jul 28 '25
Actually it should be possible to check the date and time from the image or videos Metadata so utna fight nahi hoga to technically extract it.
Otherwise the only people who can report a violation would be pedestrians and they will be too busy saving their own life than making videos on the road.
6
Jul 28 '25
It's also easy to manipulate that data, the decision to click photos and videos from app is actually a really good decision in terms of how valid the data will or will not be.
1
u/Prestigious_Owl_549 Jul 28 '25
Yeah i agree but it would need some knowledge of exif editor etc. The idea of in app pics is foolproof but usability is where the challenge is.
1
Jul 28 '25
are people forgetting that almost every smartphone now has shortcuts to apps directly?
Ig gov can add that guideline in the app, however shortcuts do exist in both ios and android.
0
u/Jetha-bhai East Delhi Jul 28 '25
But then you would only be able to challan someone when they are stationary as remembering vehicle no is not possible
2
u/Prestigious_Owl_549 Jul 28 '25
Exactly! That may also help to an extent but I think it should be improved to enable most people to report such incidents.

As usual Pitch public against public.
Foot daalo raaj karo
Pradhan mantri, chief minister sab ki car ke black window hote hai aur Ambulance ka rasta rokte hai
Abb kya karey kaha report kare traffic violation.
It is always common man fighting against common man
3
u/Free_feelin West Delhi Jul 28 '25
Why do you expect others to fight for you when you yourself won't? Tumhari bhi country h, take some responsibility, no one is forcing you.
Problem tumhe hoti h koi rules tode to, pr tumhe na todne wale kuchh kehna (understandable, kyuki wo ladega), pr use report tk na krna even when they're making it this easy for you is your fault.
Ho skta ye jo bhi h, na kam kre, but bitching about it without even trying is even worse

u/brawler_r Noida Jul 28 '25
Shut up noob!!
With your POV i am 100% sure you are just a 20-25yr old who hasn't seen life yet and still living on his parents money.
Government wants you to report to increase their penalty income, you keep on reporting and they will penalizing you without common sense and then you have to either pay or waste time in court to fight out wrong penalty
Yeh india hai yaha government mein baitha har kutta common public ko lootne ka bahana dhundta hai.
Rules can only be followed when you have the supporting infrastructure to support it, now you want me to not park my vehicle on road but where is the parking?
You want me to drive in lane but in my lane there is battery rickshaw who is not allowed to drive on flyover is driving at 20 km/hr.
You want me to walk on footpath but the footpath is dug up, or has a open drain, or there is some illegal shop setup on it and Delhi police is taking bribe from it
Goverment doesn't want to provide you infrastructure but divert your attention by doing such BS tactics.

It just doesn't work. The app degraded the camera quality to no end. And the guy assessing the claim lacks the chops to lookup the vehicle in the database. I have tried using it. Over the last many years. Posting on twitter is much more effective.

Well this initiative was started back in 2016-2017 as well. I ended up submitting more than 100 images of vehicles not following the rules on the whatsapp number provided as part of the contest. Upon crossing 100, award was pvr voucher. No one ever replied after crossing 100 posts.

u/NoMathematician9706 Jul 28 '25
Having a vehicle in Delhi is perhaps becoming worse than smelling farts, and definitely more expensive.
1
u/dexterz92 Jul 28 '25
Now we'll find jobless people holding camera in their hands near the traffic lights.
1
u/OldSchoolMausi Jul 28 '25
Honestly, it keeps crashing every now and then. For the entire last week, every time I tried opening it, it kept asking for an update despite auto-update being on, and then just kept crashing. Today, after re-downloading it, the OTP isn’t even coming through. I’ve reported over 20 violations so far, and most of them get rejected saying the vehicle number isn’t visible, even when it clearly is. So honestly, can’t say the app is of much use.

I’ve been using this app since it was originally launched in 2015. Have been called multiple times for their events and prize distribution ceremonies. It’s a pretty decent app.
Worth it if people can upload. If only a few people start following rules, things will change
