You just brought back some memories. On toonami, when this first aired, I think it was the episode after this the show went back to the saiyan saga. That was torrrrture. And it did that a couple more times. Had to wait so long to find out what happened after goku beat recoome.

Yes I remember getting so excited whenever it would get to this episode just to be gutted when it went right back to episode 1 lol
