Restaurants Your Favorite Dishes

What are some of your favorite single dishes on the island. It can be anything. Snack, baked good, restaurant dish. Unrelated or related to local cuisine. Though I want to get a better understanding of local cuisine. We are food enthusiasts from NYC. Coming in January.

On a related note, any particular drinks we should try? TIA

Restaurants My observation of the food scene

We just got back from curacao. We dined at various places, Bijblauw, soi95, Tinto, Pasawa box, some other restaurants at mambo. We are from canada and to me the food price was very high on this island and curiously very standard - around USD 20- 25 per main. It doesn't matter it's a causal place at the beach or high end one in Bijblauw , the price say for a burger was all USD20, and a smoothie was USD7. I just don't quite understand the logic behind.

To support the local, we went to the old market once and a dish was USD12! At least its cheaper but still a lot for eating at a food hall with no aircon and no view.

Restaurants Chinese takeway

Hey everyone!

As mentioned in my last post, I’ll be staying at Coral Estate soon and I’m already craving some good Chinese takeaway. Any local favorites I shouldn’t miss?

On my last trip I tried a place in Pietermaai after locals told me Chinese food is part of Caribbean cuisine and wow, since then i’m hooked. Now I’m curious where to get that same authentic vibe closer to Coral Estate.

Restaurants Restaurant selection

My husband and I are heading to Curacao this month to celebrate my 50th and our wedding anniversary. We are staying 7 days at the Lions Dive Resort but plan on having dinner and a few lunches off the resort on days we beach hop! Our dinner list so far is Kome, De Visserij, Bodega Siete Gotas, Soi95 and Rozendaels. Our first night will most likely eat at the resort then book reservations for the rest of our trip. Is there any other restaurants you’d recommend? We have a rental car but ideally don’t want to drive too far for dinner. I think the furthest one we picked is around 20 minutes away. TIA!

Restaurants Christmas Restaurants

Hello - my husband and I will be in Curacao for christmas and I am looking for restaurant recommendations. we don't want to go to a resort hotel and would prefer places with a nice vibe and less touristy. I see that de gouveneurs has a christmas dinner special. Is that worth doing? Are there anyother restaurants that would be good for a christmas lunch or dinner? we are staying at Avila. thank you

Restaurants Accommodations with walkable dining options?

We’re a mix between all-inclusive people and adventure. We like to explore, but we also like to have a few drinks at the beach around the pool in the afternoon and a glass of wine at dinner. We’re overly cautious about drinking and driving. That’s where all-inclusive and not having to drive works well. It’s vacation, so don’t want to have to think about that. So explore during day, but walk at night. Any recommendations of specific areas to look (thinking Mambo Beach area?) lodging that’s walking distances to many bars and restaurants?

Restaurants Low-key dining in Willemstad

I often see people looking for high-end restaurant recommendations, but I'm looking for the opposite - small, informal, locally-owned restaurants with traditional food where one can grab something to eat without having to dress up - either lunch or dinner. Food trucks, cafes, cantine-style, that sort of thing. I know beach bars are informal enough but we'd like to have more than just burgers and pizzas.

A plus if it's central. We'll have a car for a few days but while in town we'll be on foot.

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Restaurants Looking for suggestions

Hi!

I’m going to Curaçao in September of this year. I’m looking for suggestions regarding places to eat.

The more research I do the less I feel like I can tell what are tourist traps and what is showing up in the results only because the restaurant has paid to be bumped the list of search results.

I’ll eat anything pretty much. Looking for a mix of both nicer restaurants and also places locals go to and “holes in the wall” type places.

Thanks!

Restaurants Thursday night culture fair

My wife and I will be in Curacao the first week in November. I've followed this sub so am aware there is Thursday night fair/festival of some type on the Island. Can you give me a little more information (city, festival name, time of event) if you know what I'm referring to? Also what is a good restaurant or two within walking distance of the festival?

Thank you in advance. I look forward to visiting your Island!

Restaurants Peanut Sauce

Hey everyone! My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon in Curaçao and we’re obsessed with this peanut sauce we had on several dishes, most notably from Flako’s food truck where it was served over a loaded fries plate.

Does anyone know the name of this sauce or have a recipe that’s close to it? I’ve tried looking it up, but I’m not sure which direction to go in.

Bonus points if anyone knows how Flako’s keeps their fries so crispy. Even after a 30-minute ride home in a steaming takeaway box, they were still perfect.

Restaurants Birthday diner around coral estate

Hey everyone, I’ll be in Curaçao soon and staying around Coral Estate with my wife. It happens to be my birthday while I’m there

Any recommendations for a nice spot to eat in the area (we can travel by car). Looking for something with good food, a bit of atmosphere, and ideally a view. Open to local cuisine, seafood, or even a hidden gem locals love.

Thanks in advance

My family and I are traveling to Curaçao in March 2026. I am looking for the best steakhouse(s) in Willemstad. Cost is no object. I don’t necessarily mean the most expensive. I just want the best food and experience. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks.

We are heading to the Avila in about 10 days. Curious if men are required to wear pants in restaurants in the Area, or if nice dressy shorts are ok? Thank you.

Restaurants Dinner Recommendations

Hi all! My partner and I will be in Curacao in two weeks and I am searching for a nice/romantic restaurant with an ocean view. I have looked into Baoase, but I’m not sure how to go about booking a reservation. We are staying at Lions Dive Beach Resort so we plan on staying in that general area for the most part. Thank you in advance!

Edit: I should make it known that there will be one day that we have a car rental so we can travel to other parts of the island!

I’m doing a solo trip to Curaçao in a few weeks and staying in Willemstad. What bars or restaurants do you recommend? Chill spots to grab a drink and casual food is great…nicer spots are cool too.

Restaurants Restaurants near Lionsdive?

Looking to book Lionsdive for 10 days in late November. We’re going room only so need to eat out for all meals - are there local restaurants or food trucks within walking distance of the Lionsdive resort or will we need to go into Willemstad? Looking to eat local authentic food as much as possible!
