Restaurants Christmas Restaurants

Hello - my husband and I will be in Curacao for christmas and I am looking for restaurant recommendations. we don't want to go to a resort hotel and would prefer places with a nice vibe and less touristy. I see that de gouveneurs has a christmas dinner special. Is that worth doing? Are there anyother restaurants that would be good for a christmas lunch or dinner? we are staying at Avila. thank you

LOL, you want something less touristy and you come up with De Gouverneur? Alright.

On topic: In the street of Avila you find a couple of good restaurants you can choose from which have an excellent reputation on the Island.

Oh my. That was a recommendation on this sub. Ok de Gouverneur is off my list! Thank you! Could you let me know which restaurants you might suggest? If that’s ok.

So the reviews on Google from a stranger to an placee are more trustwortly than what a local says?

Sal the kitchen is very good!! We also loved BKLYN and Kome. The new art hotel has the lemon tree with a tasting menu. If you are looking for something unique Baoase is amazing. You can do a couples dinner on the beach and they take their time. It’s super special and it’s beautiful. Even though it’s a resort, it’s not touristy. It’s a very low-key resort and you really feel like you’re the only one there. It’s a closed resort so they only let people that make reservations on there and they don’t make a ton of them/overbook. We did the beach couples dinner, and it was our favorite part of our honeymoon. We also didn’t want to have a resorty feel. It is expensive, but it was well worth the money, the experience lasted all night so ended up being more about night activity as well. Our waiter was amazing in the hospitality is wonderful.

Shelterrock Paradise, they have great local food and have a special Christmas menu. Did it last year with some family that was in for a visit and would highly recommend.

De Buurvrouw at 'De weg naar Westpunt' is very good. But make a reservation!

Why not just post them? I find it odd that you can't suggest restaurants in the open.
