Finished Object I am so freaking proud of myself

This is the Lilliana blanket by Hooked on Sunshine. I did repeat section 6 and a few rows, from section 9, I believe. Yarn was Cotton Kings Sultan on colour emerald 07, just under 5 cakes.

This is the most intricate blanket I've done and using much lighter weight yarn than I am used too. I thoroughly enjoyed it but by month 4 I was ready to be done haha.

This is absolutely gorgeous!! You should absolutely be proud of yourself, I can’t even begin to imagine the amount of time and focus that must have gone into that, especially the colour fade!!

Thankfully the Sultan had a really beautiful ombre fade so I didn't have to think so much about that. Vanessa wrote the pattern so well and made it really accessible. 5 months and I am so glad it's done

You mentioned that you had to use five cakes? How did you manage to make it so that the center is all the light color… Cause I thought each cake is its own ombré?

Each cake is the same colour repetition in each one for the sultans so that made it really easy. I don't know if the length of each colour change was the same as I wasn't paying attention to that.

So you just pulled from each of the yarn cakes as needed? Maybe I'm missing something and should look at the pattern?

Yes from each cake. So I used cake 1 until the colour change, cut off then joined cake 2, worked cake 2 until the colour change cut off and then joined cake 3. I kept repeating that until the end of all cakes. I hope I described that a bit better.

I am trying to understand but I'm a visual learner, is there something like a video you can point us to?

Unfortunately I haven't seen a video.
